Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati
Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Yeole
Vice Chancellor.
At the outset I warmly welcome you all to this beautiful Sant Gadge Baba Amravati
University which was established with a noble vision and mission of catering to the needs of
the poor, socially and economically backward sections of the society in the field of higher
education. The University strives hard to bring-in the academic and administrative quality measures into practice.
The University has made noteworthy contribution in the field of environmental
protection and in the maintenance of ecological balance. The huge campus, sprawling over
470 acres is lush green well maintained campus. Three pristine and perennial reservoirs of
water add a generous stroke of tranquillity making the campus self-sufficient for its water requirements.
In the 40 years of the university, as many batches of students have come out, we are
proud and privileged to have moulded and shaped generations of the youth from the western
Vidarbha through education and enlightenment.
Advancing the commandments of modern saint, the university hosts seats of learning
in the name of Sant Gadge Baba, Swami Vivekanand, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar,
Mhahnubhav the Buddhist Studies Centre along with Dr. Shrikant Jichkar Memorial Research Centre.
The university stands proud to encourage its employees and the environmentalists by
way of ‘Best Employee’ and ‘Environment’ Award respectively and female students with
commendable contributions in the field of research are felicitated with Klapana Chawla Young Lady Research Award.
For all purposes, we breathed Gadge Baba’s doctrine to help the needy students, to
uplift the downtrodden and to guide the unemployed for employment. The elixir of Gadge
Baba’s philosophy has been so strongly pricked into our hearts that the university as a family
holds this mission and pay our tribute to pious soil of Amravati.
